McCormick 7th grade registration starts off with Mrs. Cockley and Mrs. Troudt going to each of the elementary schools in the triad and talking to the kids about the different classes and what they are about. “We encourage the 6th graders to pick the classes that they think sound fun and what classes they are interested in,” said Mrs Cockley. After that, there are parent meetings between the councilor and principles about the classes and the students get their packet about the classes and the fill ou tthe forms. Spring visitation occurs when the 6th graders come to McCormick and get a tour all around the school by the eight graders. They get to eat lunch with the kids. The last step is coming to the school to get the lockers and school picture a week before school starts.
