What is it like being a 2nd grader at Dildine Elementary School?

Staff writer, Bella Garcia, joined Mrs. Bartlett’s 2nd grade class to see how they learn to read, write, and do math. In Mrs. Bartlett’s class students have a schedule to follow:

8:35 to 8:50 she takes attendance

8:50 to 9:50 is readers workshop

10:05 to 11:15 is P.E.

11:15 to 11:40 students work on grammar

11:40 to 12:15 is lunch/recess

12:15 to 1:15 is writer’s workshop

2:15 is math

2:15-2:30 is recess

2:30 is smart time

After smart time you get ready to go home for the day.

Mrs. Bartlett reflected, “My favorite part of teaching is when the kids come into the classroom ready and excited to learn.” Mrs. Bartlett has been described as a kind and caring person with an appetite to help kids grow. Mrs. Bartlett went to a non- traditional collage called Western Governor’s University, which is a online collage. Mrs Bartlett is not letting anything and in the way of her kids succeeding.
