Ranching is a huge part of agriculture today. It brings beef and poultry to local grocery stores. Alyssa Samuelson explains ranching by saying, “Ranching is just a bunch of agriculture work. We work with cows, horses, and chicken.”

On Alyssa’s ranch they breed the animals and they have a huge work day called a branding. A branding day is only for cows. They are separated  their parent and branded  so if  they get stolen or something worse, people can find the stolen or missing cattle and return them.

Th hard work pays off. Ranchers can make a good salary if they are willing to work hard.  “You just go around and make a bunch of money.”  “We have many workers who tend to the ranch.”

It is a good career option for those that enjoy working with animals.
